Jiangsu Reliance Energy and ZTE Sign Strategic Agreement

May 14th, Jiangsu – Jiangsu Reliance Energy Tech. Co., Ltd. (Reliance Energy) and ZTE Corporation (ZTE) formalized a strategic partnership at Reliance Energy’s Changzhou Binjiang Economic Development Zone facility, marking the launch of a collaborative “5G+Smart Factory” initiative.

Reliance Energy Founder and Chairwoman Chen Xuan, ZTE Senior Vice President Wang Xiang, and ZTE Vice President & Jiangsu Branch GM Wang Yi attended the signing ceremony, cementing plans to integrate cutting-edge 5G and industrial intelligence technologies into Reliance Energy’s production ecosystem.

Reliance Energy: A Regional Powerhouse

Established in November 2021 with a registered capital of RMB 1.524 billion, Reliance Energy is a key industrial project in Changzhou’s Binjiang Economic Development Zone. The company specializes in R&D, production, and sales of high-rate, high energy density tabless large cylindrical lithium batteries.

Its Phase I high-rate cell production base, spanning 324 acres (21.6 hectares) with a total investment of RMB 6 billion, is on track for completion by late 2024. At full capacity, the facility will produce 15GWh of high-capacity cylindrical lithium batteries annually, targeting approximately RMB 10 billion in yearly revenue.

ZTE: Enabling Smart Manufacturing
As a global leader in integrated communication solutions, ZTE brings its expertise in cloud-network-edge-device integration, AI, and secure digital infrastructure to this partnership. The collaboration will deploy ZTE’s full-stack innovations—including operating systems, databases, cloud platforms, and industrial AI—to optimize Reliance Energy’s smart factory operations, enhance production efficiency, and accelerate mass production of high-performance cylindrical batteries.

The signing and launch of the “5G+ Smart Factory” project will contribute to the construction of Reliance Energy’s smart factory and accelerate the mass production of its high-performance cylindrical batteries.
